About Us
Ensemble Propulsion Systems is a passion project that began in San Francisco during the Summer of 2022.
Our Goal:
“Design, build, test, and share our journey with hybrid and liquid propulsion systems to inspire the next generation of rocketeers and unlock access to the cosmos.”
Our Journey:
2022: Completed Duet, our first hybrid propulsion system.
2023-2024: Development of Encore, our pump-fed liquid engine.
The Ensemble
-
Nick Osterwisch
Founder, Propulsion
Nick leads the design, analysis, and build of the combustion devices. He also supports turbomachinery, fluid systems, and structures. He manages the overall project timeline and sends all of those tweets!
B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
-
Tristan Hagerman
Founder, Turbomachinery
Tristan leads the design, testing, and assembly of turbomachinery and fluid systems. The systems he designs turn electrical energy into pressure, and eventually into kinetic energy. He also leads our manufacturing efforts.
M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University.
-
Ethan McCowan
Vehicle Development
Ethan leads the Vehicle Development team working on rocket bodies, control systems, solid propellants, and more. He is most experienced in system-level design for rocket vehicles and is currently designing his L3 certification rocket.
Mechanical Engineering Senior at University of Cincinnati.
-
Ryan Boone
Project Manager (Wrangler of Cats)
Ryan is our project manager and media consultant. In addition to the standard project manager duties like maintaining goals and deadlines, he also assists in organizing meetings and provides recommendations regarding social media and outreach.
M.A. in Economics from Western Kentucky University
-
Andrew Leung
Manufacturing, Hype-Man
Andrew isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty to get the job done. Between laser cutting almost 400 keychains for Open Sauce and preparing our casting equipment, Andrew brings strong manufacturing expertise to the table
-
Bailey Bauman
Vehicle Development
Working out of our east coast location, Bailey is assisting in the development and testing of our small rocket vehicles. Beginning with solids-based vehicles to test avionics and other subsystems, he will eventually be assisting in integrating our liquid rocket engines into future vehicles.
-
Celeste Ozimek-Newman
Avionics (Master of Electrons)
Celeste is spearheading the development of our in-house electronics. Her projects will control our test stands, engine modules, and eventually will be the brains of our future flight vehicles.
